I don't think we have a particularly unique or complicated story. We are Eric & Lara...and Rooney. We are from New Jersey originally and had an urge to explore. That initially manifested itself with trips to the Delaware Water Gap and kayak trips to the same area, hikes around Pennsylvania and runs in the woods of Middlesex County. After college we took advantage of free time to spend a month road tripping the United States, which completely opened our eyes. A year or so later we moved westward to Golden, Colorado, Lara an Athletic Trainer by trade and Eric working in accounting. Exploration got a wider sense and we explored the Rocky Mountains extensively for the better part of the last 10 years, traveled abroad to Australia (twice), New Zealand, Iceland (twice), a handful of Central American countries and bits of Europe. When our story did become somewhat unique was taking advantage of this opportunity we have in front of us now...7 months on the road. Between roles at Eric's job, no debt, house or children and just this big ball of fur to care for we felt a strong draw to further exploration. Each trip we took for a long weekend or week vacation, we found little parts of America we loved and wanted to spend more time there. Alas, stupid work gets in the way and we headed back to "everyday life".
We now have a chance to explore with no schedule, an open road and, oh yeah, a sweet van we built ourselves! We hope you enjoy our journey, find inspiration, learn something new or just like a few of the photos we capture along the way.
